Staying Healthy During the Holidays

The holiday season is an exciting and special time to celebrate with loved ones, but it can often involve a lot of travel, heightened stress levels, and a break in routines. During this busy time, it can be difficult to maintain healthy habits. The key to enjoying the holidays while feeling your best is balance. Here are some tips and tricks to help you stay healthy and energized during the holidays:

  • Eat before you go to an event to avoid overindulging

  • Pack healthy snacks for traveling (nuts, fresh fruit, popcorn, multi-grain crackers)

  • Keep alcohol consumption to a minimum

  • Stay hydrated - keep a reusable water bottle with you

  • Prioritize sleep - try to go to bed and wake up at your usual times

  • Maintain normal exercise routines - if no access to a gym, don’t underestimate the power of a walk

  • Take time for yourself to relax and recharge (listen to a podcast, do a guided meditation, take a walk!)

  • Have fun and don’t beat yourself up if you over-do it once or twice - just start fresh the next day!
