My absolute favorite fruit is a mango. There are enough varieties such that they are always in season in the United States; but for me, they mean warm weather and sunshine, so I enjoy them beginning in April.

So beautiful, delicious and versatile, the mango fits very well in both sweet and savory dishes and is the celebrated ingredient in cuisine from different cultures across our planet. I put them in smoothies, add them to fruit salads for both color and flavor, and sometimes cut them into cubes and mix them in with another favorite of mine: avocados. Just add a pinch of salt and get your spring started off right!
