Abundance for All in Our Community

Fall is the time of year that we think of the harvest, right? There’s corn, pumpkins, squash, and apples just to name a few. I also tend to think of “abundance” as the various media ads showing those huge baskets of plenty.

I also get excited thinking of all the recipes I will try, and, once again, enjoying my favorite dishes - but something else comes to mind that is much more important. There are so many people living in the District of Columbia who don’t have access to the very bounty I mentioned. They don’t have the comfort of knowing when they will have their next meal, let alone a recipe collection. Many don’t even know how to make food choices that are healthy and nutritious, even if they could easily grab them from the store.

This food insecurity is a problem we must all work to solve.

Will you join me in making sure that no DC resident goes hungry?

Will you help ensure that nutritious fruits and vegetables are readily available and that our neighbors and friends have the knowledge and tools to contribute to their own health and wellbeing?
