Through our Crops in the Kitchen Program, we work on a continuum for healthy eating and health education.
Instructional Cooking
Participatory and demonstration classes teach program participants how to cook a variety of produce and learn their nutritional benefits while emphasizing the direct relationship between wellness and food.
Monthly demonstrations are held at Ward 8 Farmers’ Market
Sous Chef Challenge
High school students are tasked with creating their own recipe and recording a video of it! In the video, students show a step-by-step process of creating the meal along with telling their audience about the nutritional facts from the food they prepared. These creative 2 – 3 minute videos are publicly viewed but winners are selected by participating judges.
